Blue Ocean Strategy Network

Ms. Ling is a consultant, trainer, and keynote speaker for international audiences who want to systematically create innovative solutions that offer both exceptional value and reduced cost structures, otherwise known as Blue Ocean Shift (BOS). Her consulting career spans three decades across four continents from North America, to Asia, Europe and Australia. After working with premier consulting firms, such as Accenture and McKinsey, her passion for advancing corporate thinking in the field of strategy lead Ms. Ling to take on a senior executive position with the largest not-for-profit health plan in the US to implement a nation-wide strategy based on BOS principles. Afterwards, to expand her work in BOS to both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, and companies from pre-IPO start-ups to Fortune Top 10 multi-national corporations, Ms. Ling founded her current strategy consulting practice in 2000.

As a keynote speaker, Ms. Ling uses a highly interactive style to show her audiences from all over the world, the enormous growth and profit potential that can be captured by creating new uncontested market space. As a coach and consultant, Ms. Ling has translated blue ocean shift concepts and theory into practical applications and executable blue ocean initiatives for multi-national company executives, small business entrepreneurs, leaders in higher education, even business operators in entire regions and provinces. While she has in-depth experience in the health care industry, Ms. Ling is also adept at working with organizations from government agencies to high-tech manufacturers, B2B suppliers and educational institutions. As part of a 2012 US Presidential Executive Order, Ms. Ling led a team which secured US$1million grant from The Duke Endowment to launch a blue ocean strategy initiative at a historic black university to improve educational excellence for African Americans. In all her work around the world, Ms. Ling is passionate and effective at helping leaders to make the strategic shift from traditional red ocean thinking to blue ocean creation.

Ms. Ling holds a B. Sc degree in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She is currently based in the US where she is working with senior executives to implement strategies in line with national health care reform which aims to significantly improve patient care outcomes, satisfaction with their care experience while lowering the per capita cost of care - the essence of Blue Ocean Shift.
