NCWE AWARDS
The National Council for Workforce Education presents up to four awards at our annual conference: Exemplary Program Awards, Mabel K. Edmonds Excellence in Equity Award, James Jacobs Scholarship Award, and the John F. Grede Leadership Award. The Exemplary Program,
Edmonds, and Jacobs awards recognize and honor excellence in workforce education practice and in research.
The John F. Grede Award is only presented when the NCWE Board of Director's identifies a board member who has exemplified the leadership and commitment of the first NCWE Board President, Dr. John F. Grede.

Each year, NCWE recognizes two colleges with our Exemplary Program Awards in two categories: Credit Workforce Development Program and Noncredit Workforce Development Program. Award recipients are chosen based on six application criteria: executive summary, description of partnerships and collaborations, potential economic impact, advancement of diversity, equity and inclusion, program outcomes and impact, and replication and scalability. |

The Mabel K. Edmonds Excellence in Equity Award recognizes a program or initiative at a community or technical college that focuses on intentional and effective equity-conscious practices that mitigate inequities through workforce education. Award recipients are chosen based on six application criteria: executive summary, excellence in equity, partner and community involvement, innovation and agility, outcome driven results/potential impact, and replication. |

The James Jacobs Scholarship Award honors the outstanding scholarly contributions made in workforce education by Dr. Jacobs. This award supports and encourages doctoral research in areas such as Career Pathways, Workforce Development, Adult and Continuing Education, and Career/Technical Education. |

The John F. Grede Board Service Award is presented to past members of the NCWE Board of Directors who have given outstanding, extraordinary service to the National Council for Workforce Education. This award is named after NCWE's first president, Dr. John F. Grede, who served during 1975-76. His dedication and leadership to the Council serves as the inspiration and standard of service for all who receive this award. |
