The Associate Vice Chancellor, Chief Economic and Workforce Development Officer, reports directly to the Vice Chancellor, Educational Services, and provides overall leadership in the planning, organization, administration, evaluation, policy development, and implementation for the Economic and Workforce Development programs and initiatives throughout the District.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead programs for our three colleges that cover almost 25,000 square miles and include over five counties, the Sierra Mountains, Southern San Joaquin Valley, and the Eastern Sierras including Mammoth Lakes. The primary areas of responsibility include working with the three college deans in providing administrative oversight for the VTEA programs, leadership for the adult education consortium, leadership for the high school to college completion pathways projects, and all economic and workforce development programs. Our colleges are providing innovative programs dedicated to student success that are recognized statewide.

Description:
PCC is seeking a Director for the new OMIC Workforce Training Center in Columbia County, Oregon. The Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC) is a collaborative environment bringing together industry, higher education and government in partnership to develop new tools, techniques, and technologies to address near-term manufacturing challenges through applied research and advanced technical training. PCC is leading the OMIC Training Center, which combines on-the-job training with classroom and lab instruction in an apprenticeship type model. Students can complete different educational pathways that lead to employment and/or career advancement opportunities through OMIC training.

Master's degree in Education, Administration, Counseling, or related field (Relevant advanced manufacturing experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis). Three (3) years progressively responsible experience related to area of assignment, including Two (2) years of supervisory experience

Primary responsibilities include: Coaching participants of the First Source Jobs Program to establish individual career plans, and provide pre- and post-placement guidance; Facilitating direct soft skills training (e.g., resume writing, interview preparation, on-the-job expectations, etc.) for job preparation, both individually and in workshops; Job search and referral; Making referrals to other programs and services as appropriate; Data input, management, and assessment; Assisting in meeting internal and external reporting requirements; Recruitment and outreach to various audiences along career preparation continuum (job seekers, trainers, employers); Program design and evaluation with team of staff and community members; Assisting with the creation and improvement of soft skills curricula; Assisting in creating partnerships with organizations that align with First Source Services; and Participating in coalitions that help to advance the First Source Jobs Program’s vision for economic opportunity.
