Dr. Kay McClenney

Dr. Kay McClenney,  Director of the Community College Survey of Student Engagement and Sid W. Richardson Endowed Fellow in the Community College Leadership Program (CCLP) at The University of Texas at Austin.  Within the CCLP, she is Senior Consultant for the Lumina Foundation’s Achieving the Dream Initiative; a member of the Initiative Consultant Team for the Ford Foundation’s Community College Bridges to Opportunity Initiative; and Director of the MetLife Foundation’s National Student Retention Project. Dr. McClenney is also a Senior Associate with The Pew Forum on Undergraduate Learning and a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Education Commission of the States (ECS), where she previously served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. www.fldoe.org/cc/docs/McClenney.htm

Dr. Sharon Blackman

Dr. Sharon Blackman,  President of Brookhaven College of the Dallas County Community College District.  She has 33 years of experience in higher education administration, program development, counseling and teaching.  Dr. Blackman is a member of the College Board Commission on Community Colleges, a new undertaking of the College Board’s Center for Innovative Thought.  She served as a faculty member for the Executive Leadership Institute, which is sponsored by the League of Innovation.  Dr. Blackman has been involved in a number of professional and community organizations, including the American Association of Community Colleges, President's Roundtable, The Chair Academy’s International President’s Advisory Board, and the National Institute for Leadership Development Board.

Mr. Randall Kempner, Vice President for Regional Innovation at the Council on Competitiveness. Mr. Kempner brings nearly 15 years of experience in the field of national and international development consulting to the Council. In leading the Council’s Regional Innovation Initiative area, Mr. Kempner has directed economic development initiatives in over a dozen U.S. regions. He currently leads the Council’s teams that are supporting the U.S. Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation in Regional Development (WIRED) initiative and the EDA-sponsored 21st Century Regional Leadership Initiative.www.compete.org/about-us/staff/randall-kempner

Lansing Community College’s Technical Careers Division has several programs that integrate   green and sustainable concepts within the curriculum in addition to the Alternative Energy Engineering Technology program. Faculty members continue to identify methods to integrate these concepts in order to prepare students for workforce opportunities today and tomorrow.
