Description:

The Northern Virginia Community College System is seeking an experienced and mature administrator to serve as its Vice President for Workforce Development. The Vice President provides leadership overview for three primary functional teams- business development, design and implementation, and operations. The Workforce Development Division’s focus is to consistently grow enrollment and revenues to better meet the needs of the community and businesses served. Currently, the division’s annual enrollment exceeds 23,000 students, and its $11 million budget is sustained by contracts, business/community partnerships, grants, and fees for services.

Reporting to the President, s/he will provide proactive support to regional economic development initiatives and provide strategic, college-wide leadership for the development and delivery of workforce training and development programs to government, businesses, and industry clients. The Vice President will operate out of the System’s central office on the NOVA Annandale Campus. Alongside the Woodbridge campus Provost, the Vice President will also be heavily involved in the planning of the new Regional Center for Workforce Education and Training building. The Vice President will serve as a member of the State Workforce Advisory Committee and work with the Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development of the Virginia Community College System to ensure collaboration between the College and System office in advancing the vision for workforce development in the state
