Gateway was one of the first Kentucky Community and Technical College System colleges to offer academic credit for customized skill upgrade training. In partnership with the Gateway Manufacturing Consortium, the division has created several new certificates, all of which are embedded in the manufacturing technology associate degrees. This initiative utilizes customized technical and performance skill training, apprenticeship programs, academic advisors at company sites, and career mapping sessions for incumbent workers.

Patient Care Technician Accelerated Job Training
The Patient Care Technician is the most successful accelerated job training program that is offered by the Workforce Solutions Group of St. Louis Community College. The program has key local industry partners, strong enrollment, constant demand and an outstanding job placement rate of 86%. STLCC’s industry partners include two of the largest hospital systems in the region-BJC Healthcare and SSM Healthcare with St. Luke’s Hospital being recently added as a third partner.
